| Gwen Felice tagged you in a post. Gwen Felice November 2 at 3:45 PM With a very heavy heart, our family lost my father's oldest sibling early this morning, Alvin Press . Born on October 4th, 1942, to Evelyn and Frank David Press, Alvin was the oldest of 5 siblings, Bill , Rachelle, Edward , and Nancy. Born in PA, the family moved to Spring Valley New York when Alvin was 3 years old. During his teenage years, Frank's cousins in Poland needed insulin, and weren't able to access it in their own country. Frank would get the medication and Alvin , along with his siblings would put the medication in tins of coffee grinds and bring it to the canner to reseal the cans so they were able to get the insulin to family members that needed it. Alvin would smile every time he told that story. At 18, he enlisted in the Airforce. During his time serving, Alvin was stationed as an engineer at Stuart Airport in Newburgh, NY. Alvin was a strong minded individual and always spoke what was on his mind. He didn't sugarcoat, and didn't care about the repercussions. (He kept us all on our toes for sure.) When it came to his family, he loved unconditionally. He loved history and looking up the history of his family, and was always eager to share it with his immediate and extended family. He was always excited to share his findings. Alvin was extremely proud of his time in the Airforce, and as he got older, he would talk about it often. Alvin will be remembered by his siblings, William Press, Rachelle Press Roggio, Edward Press , and Nancy Roth. Alvin leaves behind three children, Scott Press, Stacy Press , and Shawn Press . He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Robert Allison, Clayton Allison, Judith Press, Natalia Press, and great grandsons Lucas and Elijah Allison. Arrangements are being made at the Veteran's Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida per his request. The family loves him and will miss him dearly. Sleep well Uncle Alvin. Will love you forever and miss you always. You can now tag your friends in your status or post. Type @ and then type the friend's name. For example: "Had lunch with @John Smith."
